My Media Summer

 Films: Harry Potter

Over the summer, I had a Harry Potter Marathon. My favourite films from the Harry Potter collection would be the Philosophers Stone and The Deathly Hallows part 2. I enjoy these films because they show how the characters have grown up, and their use of props, costume and lighting has also improved throughout the series. it also follows the basic 'Todorov's Theory'.The main reason as to why I like Harry Potter is because the narrative and theme of the overall series is very unique and involves the genre fantasy which really appeals to me.

Songs: Justin Bieber Album 'Believe'

My favourite album over the summer has been Justin Biebers new album 'Believe'. The reason I enjoy listening to Justin Bieber, is because, like any other teenage girl, I think he is the "teenage heartthrob" with majority of his music and merchandise appealing to a target market of girls from the ages 6-20.

TV Programme: Celebrity Big Brother
The programme I watched religiously during the summer from when it started was Celebrity Big Brother; who's institution was channel 5. It appealed to me because I was familiar with a lot of the celebrities within the show and it also gave me something to talk about with my friends. It was a fairly popular programme as it was aired on channel 5.

Websites:Youtube

Youtube is probably the most popular and frequently used website. Mainly used to watch music videos, it appeals to me and has one of the largest target markets. It appeals to me as I find it extremely convenient how you can type in anything and watch or listen to whatever you want, from news reports to music videos, and educational videos.

Stories in the News: Shooting in Gurdwara in Wisconsin

Although the shooting in Wisconsin Gurdwara was briefly shown on all news channels, different institutions presented this news differently. The Sikh channel showed full footage of the events and interviewed members of family in England and other people they thought that this may have affected, where as BBC 1 only briefly stated the facts on the event.
